Course Description:
This course covers communication systems, Voice and Flight recorders, Public address systems, HF Radios, UHF Radios, Multiplex, ACARS, Navigation systems, Flight instruments, VHF Radio, Weather radar, GPWS, IRS familiarization, component location and troubleshooting down to the LRU level.
Objectives: This course satisfies ATA spec 104 level III objectives. Upon completion the student will be able to:
• Recall normal functions of the aircraft systems as applicable to the Auto-Land system.
• Recall interfaces between avionics and airframe systems.
• Recall safety precautions when working around the aircraft with special emphasis on human factors and situational awareness.
• Recall routine servicing, normal and non-normal system operations and identify and record anomalies using Built In Test Equipment (BITE).
• Identify system power sources.
• Recall principal component location and access points.
• Recall proper use of troubleshooting tools in order to correctly identify, verify and repair faults.
• Identify in-service problems for type aircraft.
